Bernhard Gerber appointed new General Manager of Technology and Product Centre in Thun
Meyer Burger Technology Ltd (SIX Swiss Exchange: MBTN) has appointed Bernhard Gerber as the new General Manager of its Technology and Product Centre (TPC) Thun/Umkirch. At its location in Thun, Meyer Burger has concentrated the research and development activities and the product and technology competencies for the areas of wafer and module as well as the various products and solutions in Specialised Cutting Technologies. With over 425 employees, the TPC Thun/Umkirch is the largest organisational unit with the broadest product portfolio in the Meyer Burger Group.
Bernhard Gerber is taking over a key function within operational management and he will play a significant role in further developing and strengthening these technologies within the Group. Bernhard Gerber commented: “I am really looking forward to once again focusing on the technical and operational areas. Together with my management team, we will accompany and drive forward the further development and growth of the next generation of our technologies.”
Since 2007 Bernhard Gerber has held various management roles within the Meyer Burger Group. He will assume his new management position immediately and will step down at the end of 2014 from his role as Chief Operating Officer and as member of the Executive Board of Meyer Burger Technology Ltd. He will however continue until further notice to be responsible for global supply chain management and the production location in China which he will expand further.
