Innovative Meyer Burger technology in the Umwelt Arena

The MegaSlate® photovoltaic installation integrated into the building shell produces 540,000 kWh solar electricity over 360° and on 33 different roof areas. This Swiss solar system from Meyer Burger Technology AG facilitates perfect integration into the architectural design language of buildings – suitable for use from single-family houses to large-scale projects.

Meyer Burger Technology AG (SIX Swiss Exchange: MBTN), which markets its building-integrated solar systems under the 3S Photovoltaics brand in Switzerland, has once again been able to display the architecturally appealing MegaSlate® concept. With 5,300 m² solar modules and a 360° roof orientation on the Umwelt Arena, approximately 540,000 kWh solar electricity per year can be generated. This is roughly equivalent to the annual energy consumption of 120 private households or 300 electric vehicles. 5,239 frameless MegaSlate® solar modules generate solar energy on a total of 33 roof areas with triangular and trapezoidal shapes and facing various directions. The solar installation consists of 3,663 standard modules and 1,644 special modules.

Meyer Burger presents itself in the Umwelt Arena
Meyer Burger, together with its partners Be Netz AG, Ernst Schweizer AG and SolarMax, realised and financed the highly informative exhibition “Solar Energy – of course!” on the third floor of the Umwelt Arena. Visitors are introduced to the thrilling world of photovoltaics, solar thermal energy and solar construction. Find out more about the technologies that enable you to take advantage of our limitless solar energy! Various innovative solar systems from Meyer Burger Technology AG can also be inspected in other parts of the exhibition.

Sustainability that is tangible and unique can be experienced first-hand at the Umwelt Arena in Spreitenbach. Thirty exciting, interactive exhibitions provide visitors with plenty of information. The Umwelt Arena in Spreitenbach also offers attractive and exceptional premises as well as sustainable catering for individual events.
