Ms Wanda Eriksen-Grundbacher and Dr Franz Richter nominated as new members of the Board of Directors of Meyer Burger Technology Ltd

 

At the forthcoming Annual Meeting of Shareholders on 29 April 2015, the Board of Directors of Meyer Burger Technology Ltd (SIX Swiss Exchange: MBTN) will propose Wanda Eriksen-Grundbacher and Dr Franz Richter for election as new members of the Board of Directors. 

 

Wanda Eriksen-Grundbacher (Swiss/US-American citizen) is an independent advisor supporting companies in strategic, governance and financial issues. She has a Master in Accounting Science from the University of Illinois/USA and is a Swiss Certified accountant as well as a US Certified Public Accountant. Wanda Eriksen-Grundbacher worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York and Zurich from 1990 to 2011 (as Partner from 1999 onwards). She is an expert in financial accounting, corporate governance and risk management. Ms Eriksen-Grundbacher is a member of the Board of Directors and of the Audit Committee at AXA Winterthur (CH) and member of the Board at Arnold Energy & Telecom (CH) and à ma chère (CH).  Ms Eriksen-Grundbacher shall also become a member of the Risk & Audit Committee and a member of the Nomination & Compensation Committee.

 

Dr Franz Richter (German citizen) is Chief Executive Officer (Co-founder) of Thin Materials GmbH since 2007. Thin Materials GmbH develops carrier technologies for ultra-thin wafer manufacturing (acquired in 2013 by Nissan Chemical Industries). Dr Richter studied Physics at the Technische Hochschule Darmstadt (DE) and received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Aachen (DE). After holding different positions in Research & Development at Carl Zeiss (1985-1988) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology (1988-1990), he was active in different management positions for Süss Microtec from 1990 to 2004 (CEO from 1998-2004). Süss Microtec is a supplier of equipment and process solutions for the semiconductor and microsystem technology industries and for related markets. Dr Richter was President of the Semiconductor Equipment Segment at Uniaxis (today OC Oerlikon) from 2005 to 2007. He is a member of the Advisory Board at Amicra Microtechnologies GmbH (DE), at Mück Management Partners AG (CH), at the Fraunhofer Institute IZM in Berlin (DE) and a member of the Supervisory Boards of Siltronic AG (DE) and Scint-X AB (SE). Dr Richter shall also become member of the Innovation Committee.
